The HF Marching Vikings were proud to be a part of the grand opening celebration for Homewood Brewing Company in October 2024.
Homewood Brewing was founded by Carmela Wallace, mother of the late Jarad Higgins, aka Juice WRLD, and lived with him in Homewood. For Wallace, Homewood Brewing is both a tribute to Jarad and a way to give back to the community she loves.
Her son Jarad was a member of Homewood-Flossmoor High School's Class of 2017 and a dedicated member of the Marching Vikings all four years of high school.
Ms. Wallace also runs the Live Free 999 Foundation, whose mission is to end stigma and normalize the conversation around mental illness and substance use disorders. Live Free 999 supports programs that provide preventative measures and positive avenues to address mental health challenges and substance dependency. The foundation also partners with Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Jarad's memory to support mental health education for our Vikings.
